Partial Dentures

Well after years of using my front teeth to chew food, having had over half my back teeth removed. I finally collected my new partial Dentures. I was rather surprised to find that their just like braces. a small metal frame that clips to the other teeth. Up to now they've been comfortable but no pain. Other than that it's been a quite day.

eight point eight

Or if you've not clicked 8.8. That was my blood sugar level this morning. That's a really good figure for me. To explain, a non diabetics figure will normally fall between 4.5-7 for a fasting check and that's ultimately what I have to aim for. Hopefully this is going to keep up.

Well we went for our Access cards today. Turns out that I'm in pretty good shape considering. Only my body fat level was in the yellow zone, but there's plenty of room for improvement. So over the next 12 weeks I'll let you know how I'm going on.

Ninety Quid!!

Yepp that's what the car cost me today! As you will know the car packed up over the weekend, and I wasn't able to get a Auto electrician out until today. Two hours and ten minutes later the car was fixed. It turned out that one of the cables in the ignition circuit had been rubbing against a metal part. The insulation finally wore though, causing a short circuit. Unfortunately it was located at the back of the engine, hidden under some pipes. Well the electrician had panels off and wires disconnected before he finally found the problem. Once fixed, and the fuse replaced the car was up and running. Nette decided to re-connect the stereo, which I'd disconnected, just in case that was causing the problem. Unfortunately what she hadn't realised was that the power lead to the stereo had pulled out of the socket. Which when she put the stereo back in, caused the power lead to touch a metal part blowing the fuse. So now I've got to pick up another fuse.

Tomorrow we're all in Prestatyn for medicals for the Access scheme. This will give us a pass allowing us free access to several activity's, including swimming and Ti Chi for 12 weeks. This should help me with my diabetes. Yes that's right, I was diagnosed with it, just before Christmas, it's still not under full control, as the nurse and doctor have both told me, it's a slow gentle process to insure that my sugar levels don't drop too far and I go into a Hypo. The hardest part is making sure I eat 3 proper meals a day, not the Snacking on junk, which I thought it was going to be. Funnily I'm not realy missing having junk.

what's been happening?

As we are well into 2006, I'll keep my natter restricted to this year.

The year started off with no internet connection, we decided to change ISP's to BT Broadband so that I could use my new mobile from home. I've now got a BT Fusion Mobile phone. Which if you've got BT internet, will connect to the router by bluetooth so that I can receive calls over the internet, and get charged landline rates. After a lot of fuss we were finally connected towards the end of the month.

Before Christmas I organised Mr & Mrs Santa Hi-Jacks the Chester Event-GCR3BV. This was a TB swap event with a slight difference! All TB's had to be wrapped up, and placed into Santa's sack and everyone who attended had a dip. Well from what I've heard everyone had a good time.

I've started work on another two events and possibly a third. The first Cathedral of the Canals is a cache event linked to a boat trip which involves travelling on the Anderton Boat Lift I've already made the booking for the boat for the 15th of April. And have a local pub to check out before I submit the event for publishing. The second event will be North Wales 4th CITO EVENT, I'm waiting to hear back about that one, so no details as yet.The third one is still just ideas and might not get past the ideas stage.

This year up to now I've only been out to find one cache. Cache 22 GCRT2T by David & Rachel (Happy Landins). This involves four stiles and a railway crossing each way. A nice easy find, and I dropped of a TB and a couple of Traveler Tags a non GC TB. Which I collected at the Chester Event.

The car decided to pack in one me Saturday, I called out the RAC, who after a inspection informed me that there was a electrical fault somewhere in the ignition. Tell me something I didn't know(it just stopped suddenly, on checking the main fuse and seeing that it had blown, Nette went and bought 2 replacement fuses which both blew). After fiddling around for 10 minutes he informed me that he could not fix it, so towed me home. So now it's a case of waiting for a Auto Electrician coming in the morning (Monday). Hopefully it's not going to cost a arm and a leg. Time will tell.
