Bad Week Turned Good ;)

What can I say? The middle of the week was totally rotten! Nette lost her mobile, and we know that someone's picked it up. After chasing around looking where she might have lost it. We ended up having the phone and SIM card blocked permanently. T Mobile offered her a replacement for £50, one which can be bought as a PAYG for £30, so you know where T Mobile can go.

Things had started better, on Tuesday I noticed that a new cache had gone out in Rhyl. As I had the whole family with me, as they had a couple of appointments we decided to go and find it. I dropped them off and went to find the intermediate parts of Royal Rhyl by Happy Landins, with 4PawDrive we found the first one quickly with no problems, what we were hunting for was coins with kings and queens heads on. Off to the second one, this is located near a very busy main rd, I parked up and took Trixie for a stroll. Unfortunately about 7m away across the main rd was a group who were enjoying a drink (I'm sure you know what sort) and who were sat on the wall of very small front garden, so made retrieving the coin impossible. Ok back to the car and and a 2 minute drive down the main rd to the next location, where the coin was quickly retrieved. Off we set to the fourth location which I spotted as I drove up to it. This time all I had to do was take one pace away from the car to retrieve the coin. Oh no I thought! The coins are secured by Velcro and this coin was not centrally located on the part secured to what hides it. Some one is ahead of us, so there goes the FTF on it. Fortunately having obtained 3 parts I did not need to go back to obtain the second coin, but I drove past as I still had a few minutes to spare. This time the No of people who where having a drink had increased, so I gave this one up as a bad job, sorry David and Rachel but you only need to get 3 coins to get the location of the final cache. Time for me to go and pick up the rest of the family, and set off to the final cache. We parked up and strolled up to the location and started looking, unfortunately two young ladies had followed us into it. They popped into a corner to a spend a penny (now you have to remember this is in Rhyl and there is a garage in-sight of the final location, less than 30 seconds walk away), unfortunately they chose the corner where we needed to look! Once they had gone the container was quickly retrieved. Unfortunately as I was opening it, part of the camouflage that was stuck to the lid flew off (once again sorry D & R), listing Ladies first, the FTF was made by Nette , Dolly Girl , 4PawDrive , Space Wolf and My Self.

On Thursday, Nette phoned the Black Lion which was the location of the After Event Get-Together for Cachers and Flintshire CC Rangers CITO Event and had a conservation which went something like this:

Nette"I'm phoning up to confirm the no's for the Event"
BL"Sorry but we're not serving food today"
Nette"No for Saturday for the Geocaching Event"
BL"Sorry We are not serving food on Saturday either!"
Nette"But we booked this a couple of months a go!"
BL"Sorry but the Land Lady is on holiday and before she went she sacked the chief! We had an Agency chief but he was sacked, as it was taking him 2 hours to serve main meals! The new chief doesn't start until Tuesday! And the Land Ladys not back until Monday!"
Nette now totally p**sed off"But that doesn't help me!"
BL"I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about it!"

The conversation went on for a bit more with him suggesting the names of several other pubs. Nette phoned all the pubs, unfortunately they were unable to help us, one when asked said yes they could cope with approximately 35 Dinners, until he heard that it was the coming Saturday! When he then backed out by saying that he only had one waitress available for then so could not help us! After a search through the Yellow Pages, we finally managed to locate a pub who could cater for us at such short notice!

So off we popped to view the Boars Head in Ewloe! Where we meet and had a chat with our hosts Mike & Emma. They told us that they did not normally serve food Saturday dinner times, but would bring the chief in early to cater for us! This was a better choice of location, and we were sorry not to have chosen it in at the original time. The photo is of the group at the Boars Head, Mike is the one centre right in the red top, Emma is on his left in the black top.

As it's extremely late! 3am! I'll bore you about what happened Friday and Saturday in another blog.
