Wrong Sums, Second to Find and Fried Mars Bars!

Ok Sunday evening and Chester City Cache GCMPD4 I thought that I’d save my legs, and do some of it using Google, nice and easy, as I knew what to look for. Answers for two found, and the sums worked out. I had to wait until Monday morning to find out! After doing a few errands, Nette and I set off for Chester, on arrival we parked next to the Cathedral, and Nette went to the jewellers to pick out a Valentines present, whilst I did the leg work. After collecting the missing parts, I did my sums and hey it was dead close, right I thought, rather than Nette struggling to walk to the cache, I’d scout it out, and then bring the car as close as possible.

Well my sums put me outside of a architects, this did not look right, so I decoded the clue, I was defiantly in the wrong place, now started a search around the centre of Chester, altering the digits, that I’d got off the net, 7 locations later, and several calls from Nette to find out were I was, and no luck. One thing to check, so off I went to one of the locations, the information that I researched on the net (I knew the other was right), located the needed info, I was right! One last location left so of I went back to the car and got Nette, and off we went. Ups wrong again, ok back to the car, collecting our favourite donuts from the stall in the walls, at Eastgate (who sell fried Mars Bars), back to the car and redo all the sums. Typical I’d made a simple mistake, and was 1 out on a sum (how embarrassing), sums corrected, and not too far a walk, as we had decided that if this one was wrong, to call it a day! A steady stroll later, and we reached a corner, were I looked previously! Another 70m to go, and you’ve guessed it, the batteries ran out.

Armed with the clue and a distance to go, there was no way I was walking back to the car, with out finding the cache, so we strolled slowly down, with me counting out paces! After 60m I sat Nette down on a convenient wall, while I conducted the search. 71 paces, and a quick look to the right, and hey presto, there was the cache location, about 5m away (remember I can’t walk as the crow flies), 2 seconds later and I could see the lid of the container peeking at me.

Now for the big moment, were we too late for a FTF, unfortunately yes, we’d been beaten that morning! Well we signed the log, and had a slow walk back to the car.

One thing came out of our missed FTF, was that I found out Chester has a Swarovski Crystal shop, so now I know were to go to get presents for Stephanie our teenage daughter.

Great Cook, Great Friends to laugh at!

Sunday was a special day. We had our special friends coming for Tea, we prepared the veg the night before, had a cleaning frenzy around the house (even though they've already seen our usual tip). And then the wait for them to arrive. At last there was the knock on the door, our special friends had arrived. Once settled, and after giving Trixie her present, wrapped in paper specially stamped by Joan (I don't know why she doesn't set up her own business, the stuff she makes is that good!). We settled down and had a good chat, whilst the food was cooking, Nette suggested that I take both of them out caching. She would stay and keep a eye on the food.

As they had not done my multi Warren Dee Wind Farm it was decided to take them to it. The four of us (Stephanie came with us) and Trixie of course, pilled into our car, as it is more roomy than their little city car, and of we set to Talacre. Once parked up, I gave Mark the co-ords for the first micro, and we followed them. With out giving anything away, Mark actually moved Micro no 1 with his foot, Stephanie and I were in stitches! Once pointed out to them, they were soon on the way to Micro no 2, which they very quickly found, and were very quickly on to the final cache. Once found Joan quickly claimed the GSAK key ring that I created, which I know will remain special to her! As we set off back for the car, Nette phoned to say Tea was ready, so it was straight back home for a delicious meal, for which all the credit must go to Nette! After wards, we had another chin wag, and then unfortunately it was time to go home to our little doggy nieces and nephew, to who I of course sent a little present.
