Lost again! Who Me?
Well Saturday arrived again, and another event to attend (another opportunity for great company). We arranged to meet our friends again (they must be nuts, wanting to meet up with me), who would guide us to the location, and after the event, we had arranged to go back to their house for Tea (Dinner if your posh, or not a Mancunian).
Well before we set off, first stop was to the shops to pick up some nibbles, and juice for the kids (who were staying at home), and the issues of Stargate DVD magazine waiting at the newsagents. Mission accomplished, off we set!
We had arranged to meet Mark & Joan, just off the M6, at Junction (this is where opinions differ) 20, this is what Nette originally told me, though it was actually J22.After a brief argument going down the M56, Nette got on the phone, to M&J, and confirmed that it was J22. Ok no problems (you'd think?), on to the M6 and I even got the right direction first time! Look out for J22, Nette said there's 21A, it's the next one! So being the good boy (yes thats right me), I got into the correct lane to come off at the next slipway. But wait all of a sudden, she's telling me it's the next one, as this is another J21A, ehhh? Too late to swap lanes there we were heading off the M6, onto the wrong road, Nette had already phoned M&J to tell them we were coming off, she had to call back to tell them, we'd gone wrong again! No problems, up to the next junction, come off and back the way we came, right off here, and two minutes later there they were, parked up laughing their heads off again!
We pulled in behind them, and borrowed one of their PMR's again (they are on our list of must haves promise), and our caching convoy set off! We received a running commentary about which caches we were driving past. But at last, we arrived at the The Thatch and Thistle for the event organized by Pengy&Tigger who had done themselves proud!
We located our selves at a table, and organized drinks, picked what we were having to eat, and sat and relaxed. The food was fantastic, we spoke to too many marvvellous ppeople to mention, but I got a chance to meet Bill (marinor) another member of the development group. And Brian Dego, who is one of the admins on G:UK and who has put a lot of work in for us,creating our own discussion section, and putting the polls on the site for us.
The event wound down and it was time to leave, once again we were following M&J, as we were going back to there house as previously mentioned for Tea. After arrival at their residence, and parking up, with Nette playing the "its that door" game (and getting it wrong. Time for us to enter, but first they had to secure "little Megan", one of their Lancashire Heelers who was described as being "Anti Visitor"! Wait over in we went, and said hello to Dottie, and Mr Bean, who we've already meet, and Emma.
The afternoon rolled into the evening, with Emma tacking such a shine to me, that she would not stop washing me! She especially took a shine to my ears! After a sumptuous stew, cooked by our hosts, it was decided to let little Meg out, well all I can say is that she behaved like a little lady, (Meggie, Uncle Dave & Aunty Nette have a goodie parcel on the way to you).
Finaly it was time to head home, M&J lead us to the Motorway, so that I would not get lost! And we set off home, to find out we had PC troubles. But thats for another days Blog!
