Apologise
Well it's been a extremely long time since I poured my feelings out in my blog, so here goes a quick update.
Well I've passed 200 and had a great meal afterwards with Mark and Joan who was accompanied by their daughter Susan. Nette and Stephanie were with us not forgetting Trixie.
We attended St Georges Day Event. Unfortunately Nette had a very bad night and we'd had about 15 minutes sleep, and were not realy up for it, so we left early. I left Burt the Dragon Geocoin Minder behind to carry on with his collecting. And Susan very kindly brought him home for me.
I'd organised Steam Train And Friends for Nettes birthday and things went well, apart from 7 cachers turning up extremely late, they know who they are and are forgiven (Boo your not included in this, as I know it was Peter and Jo's fault). Getting food turned out to be a slight problem due to Spooners being full, but Nette found a cafe for virtually everyone.
A new cacher has been throwing caches out the first 2 on the Great orme. Unfortunately with a sats of 2-2 several major mistakes were made. The first one I went to find The Twins was well off even by my etrex standards. When I finally found the container, it was empty and I ended up filling it up with swaps.Trixie enjoyed it and lived up to her name. We went straight off to find Cornerstone View another empty container, but what was worse in the middle of a dry stone wall. After several emails explaining why the locationing was wrong, the owner agreed to move it. A visit to their latest cache was a side splitting affair. Nette and Stephanie came with me for this one.Sound of Music the fun started off with getting Nette over a 6ft wall with climbing steps, this took Stephanie and I 10 minutes of side splitting laughter. The next obstical was a kissing gate, which even Twiggy would struggle to get through. More side splitting laughter. After a lot of searching the cache turned out to be over 100m out, and empty again. This time my swaps bag was empty (I'd yet to restock it), we then had to repeat the journey in reverse, only Nette had a audience for the kissing gate.
Well that's the update on the found cache/events, as for the Anglo-Irish event this has been a major headache. Cachers saying they were going, then their going by a differant rroute, even though the date was set, and the boat event arranged to be a birthday surprise, finally dropping out altogether. The venue the Irish lads had picked looked great but unfortunately the cost of a buffet was beyond belief! Only after a posted a very serious comment that I was considering dropping the whole idea did I even get any feedback at all. Things are going ahead but the venues being changed, I feel awkward because of the amount of work put into arranging the venue by my opposite no's in Ireland. I've got a couple of camp sites to look at on Anglesey, if I can find a suitable one with a pub serving a decent meal near by, I'm going to arrange a Friday evening event (3 in 24hrs linked to each other).
And finaly for some realy great news! We meet up with Fruity (Craig) and Sara and their little rapscalion for a quick drink, and to meet the newest member of their family Rex. when I spoke to Craig on the phone from somewhere I got a Jack Russel Terrier. Well you can imagine Nettes face when they walked out with Rex (geo name Doggit)who turned out to be a Border Collie. We went into the club for a drink and Rex took a shine to my pants. After the drink we went to retrieve a TB, and give him a long walk. The girls went into the club. After dropping off Rex at the caravan we went and joined the girls for another drink (larger shandy in my case). Craig and Sara are realy special as they saw a notice on the Sunday market that Rex needed a new home, or he would be put down. Without hesitation they took him on, Rex it is obvius was in sever need of love, something he's now getting. And it looks like he's got Craig and Sara wraped around his paw.
Just recently we'vebeen up to Sheffield to Towsure getting stuff for the Caravan. Our first outing in it will be Carry On Camping by the House Of Boo, as we can't pick the van up untill the 4 of June, it does not give us much time to get sorted. At the event we will get a chance to say helo to Rex who is bringing Craig and Sara, and Boo who is bring Peter and Jo, it's going to be a great time.
Note to self, do not leave it so long to update the Blog.
