Preaching Bullshit
If you've read the comments from "Nameless" about my last blog your know where the title comes from! Nameless is some one who works 15 hour shifts, 6 days a week but can still go out caching. Yet can't find 5 minutes to write a email or a letter asking for permission! Yes that's right "Nameless" just 5 minutes is all it takes, there is a document which you can down load and attach to a email or print out, which explains about Geocaching so you don't have to do that. This document is used by quit a few fellow cachers when they make the time to apply for permission!
Since you don't have time to write a letter or a email for permission you must be on of the following:
i: Never place caches, just go and find them.
ii:Place caches where there are agreements already in place, so that all the work has been done for you!
iii: Place caches without permission, because you can't be bothered to obtain permission!
Well "Nameless" if you fall into no iii, it shows just what you actualy think of your fellow members of the Geocaching community. Why? Simple because it's people like you who create No-Go areas for cache placement, ruining any chance that there might have been of negotiating a cache placement. At least my way avoids areas with blanket bans, when a cache might have been possible in one part of the area.
Increasingly a larger No of the UK's Geocaching community are realising that I'm not "Preaching Bullshit", but that it's people like you who need to change your attitude because your ruining it for everyone else! I've never hidden my views even when they were unpopular (mention my name to members of the UK caching community and see how many are aware of my opinions regarding cache permission, because I've never hidden my name), isn't it funny how such a unpopular opinion is now becoming the opinion of the majority after the community suffered because of those with the exact opposite opinion have affected them!
As to your comments about me "Sitting On My Arse All Day" and you working 15 hour shifts, I've done that in several different types of work mate, and as for working those shifts 6 days on the trot. That is solely down to you, not the company you work for, as you could refuse at any time you like, over your contracted hours. At least you get time of and holidays! I don't, my job involves a 24 hour day 365 days of the year, I don't get time off, or holiday time! Why because I'm a full time carer whose on call all the time, I can't walk away like you Mate! If any one is full of "Crap" it's you. People like "Nameless" always think that carers have a easy time of it and are just lazy! Funny thing is, these people when push come to shove are always the ones who wont give up work to look after someone, and when they are put in the situation where they do have to look after someone take the easy option of putting the person their responsible for into residential care! Well "Nameless" I had the guts to give up full time work to look after my wife, even though that decision left us financialy worse off! It's funny how even government reports state that being a full time carer, is one of the most stressful and least supported occupations in the UK! "Lazy Hey?"
I'll say it again just to make it clear to you!
"Unless you own the land personally then you should always obtain permission! And as far as I'm concerned, those who state they haven't the time to find out who owns land and obtain permission, what a load off "B*ll*cks! If you've got time to find caches, you certainly have time send emails and letters to find out who owns the land and obtain permission!"
When you place a cache and put it up for listing on GC, you tick a box to state you have permission to place it! Part of Geocaching is placing caches, part of placing a cache is obtaining permission off the land owner! If you've time to find caches then you can use a very small amount of that time to obtain permission to place them, that is unless your a No's person!
