I'm back! But I've been no where?

Sounds daft? Not realy! I've not kept up with my blog recently and couldn't even get the motivation to finish some of the decorating. On top of that, Nette said that Mark & Joan who popped in for a brew a couple of weeks ago, thought that they'd done something to upset me.

So what was wrong? I have been depressed as things were starting to get on top of me. Daft realy but when you start to go down the slippery slope there's no stopping. As you will be aware from reading my previous rambles, you will be aware that I'm my other half's full time carer. And I'd just hit that mental block that all carers go through at some time or other, the Carers Blues. Though in my case it's taken over 3 years to hit.

What has brought me out of this funk? A combination that I can happily say has not involved Doctors or pills! Just the support of my family, some fantastic friends and geocaching! Funny to think that I look after Nette on a full time basis but recently she's been a brick for me, giving me support and incuragment and even pushing herself when she's came out caching with me, she's even managed to persuade me to start using the Bullworker to try and get my big fat stomach down from a 45in. The kids have been worrying about my moods.

So what gave me the extra kick up the arse? a combination of the above and going out caching with our special friends Mark and Joan. We went out for a days caching on the Wirral with them and their daughter Susan (Peace Star) who we meet for the first time. The result was a personal best for me of 9 for the day, it would have been 10 but we failed to get the required picture for Lighthouse Webcam.

On Sunday we went after Dee Bore Earth Cache with Mark and Joan who had Susan with them. We parked up on one side of the river and our friends using the cache coordinates parked on the other side of the river. For a change we arrived first, as we were sat there 2 other cars pulled up behind us. It turned out to be Zeus55 and Andy8134. We meet the Smith clan and then all of us walked down the river, on our side so that Mark and Joan, Susan and Andy could go and bag Wings On the Dee, unfortunately the walk was a bit too much for Nette this time so she sat down and waited for everyone to walk back up. She went back to the car as she could not cope with the wait on the bride for the bore to arrive. The rest of us stood in the freezing cold wind one the bridge. With minutes to spare The Mighty Quins turned up, they were very luck as the Bore arrived 10 minutes early. Once bagged it was time to head for home, but first we had to go to the other side of the bridge to meet up with the Smith Clan who were coming back to our house for dinner. This accomplished we set of for our house. As we were passing Get Cross in a Field we stopped to let the Smith Clan do it. All I told Mark was "it's not in the field" and "it's within spiting distance" and he had found it in 2 seconds, we all had done Pen Y Ball Top separate of each other on the way to Chester. A great meal and a great chin wag ended the day.

Today is my 44th birthday and I started the day off by opening my cards and presents. One of the cards was a beautiful and absolutely brilliant hand made card by Joan, this is something that I will treasure for ever. I also got a 10in Dragon who has been named Burt after my Dad, who will be visiting St Georges Day Meet with us. I also got a email from Susan (Mark and Joans daughter) wishing me a happy Birthday, as we have only meet twice, for her to do this made it even more special.

So here ends my comeback blog, and I send a big thanks to my family, Mark and Joan and their daughter Susan, and to all geocachers who I've interacted with for helping me get through this period.
